Working in the Salon

con info  Beauty Students Working in the Salon at ELBA

arrowThe Salon Experience

  • A necessary part of a Beauty qualification is the 'Salon environment' and students must become proficient in this area and therefore must learn how to work safely, professionally.
  • After receiving their certificates most students if not moving on to setting up business for themselves will apply for a position in a beauty Salon.  Although sympathetic most salon owners will require that students have working experience as well as the qualification before they will employ them.
  • In view of this we have integrated a Salon side of the college where students will be able to build up their experience through working on clients. Students will then be able to add this experience to their CV.   Students however are not forced to work on clients but in such cases the college will not be able to give a reference confirming that the student has worked in a salon environment.

arrowSalon Training

  • Students will be expected to work in the training salon as a normal salon environment and the same if not higher standards will apply i.e we look very closely at Hygiene, health and Safety, teamwork, Cleanliness and preperation and most importantly client care.  We aim to simulate as much as possible a natural environment to enable the student to feel already relaxed in a salon environment.
  •  All relevant information is provided in the the East London Beauty Academy Student Handbook.
