con info Delivery of the qualification

Lecturers should aim to deliver the theory and practical of each unit simultaneously, i.e. both theory and practical of each unit should be taught together to ensure the underpinning knowledge is being delivered at the same time as the practical skills. This will help to ensure that learners understand the structures they are working on as a result of combining delivery with the practical application of treatments.

con info Assessment and grading of the qualification

This qualification will be internally and externally assessed using the assessment of skills as set out below. There are 8 mandatory units, 500,501, 502, 503, 504, 505, 506, 507 .

An ITEC External verifier will verify all practical assessment documents and verify a practical assessment in progress alongside the internal assessor and internal verifier.

con info Assessment of the Underpinning knowledge

a. The underpinning knowledge within the units will be internally assessed by oral questions or learners will be expected to complete a theory paper containing multiple-choice questions, (see table above). Each question will be given four alternative answers A, B, C and D. The learner must indicate the correct answer by marking an ‘X’ over the appropriate letter in the box on the answer sheet. Multiple choice theory papers for each unit will be externally assessed. Online testing of these units is also available.

con info Grading of the qualification

a. Practical assessments/observations and oral questions are graded Pass or Refer learners must be competent in all areas of the practical assessments and oral questions in order to pass.
