General Course Information

How will I complete my qualification?
Students will be taught Facial Skincare, Manicure, Pedicure, Eyelash/brow Treatments, Make up, Waxing, Health and Safety, Reception Duties and Promoting Services and Products. The level 2 NVQ Beauty Qualification is both Theory and Practice. After your 10 day course students will be assessed on each treatment that they have learn't after the 10 days students will be expected to complete their case studies for all treatments by carrying out treatments in ELBA Salon
On completion of all course work and practical work everything will be submitted to the examining Board for verification. Once all the evidence and documentation has met with the requirement of the Examination board then your NVQ level 2 Diploma will be issued to you. This level 2 NVQ Beauty Therapy General Diploma Course is a highly sorted qualification in the Beauty Industry and is ideal for those seeking employment in Salons, Health Farms, Spas and Cruise Liners or for those wishing to start up their own business

How will I be assessed?
This qualification will be internally assessed using the assessment marking criteria for all students.

Once the treatments have been taught you will be expected to demonstrate that you are able to carry out the treatment unaided before an assessor.

Once all of the treatment evidence documentation, assignments and underpinning knowledge have been completed the learner will have a final practical assessment carried out by the assessor and ELBA internal Verifier who also verify a sample of all students Treatment Evidence documentation and assignments. 
How will my qualification
be graded?
  • Learners must achieve a pass grade in all units to achieve the Level 2 Diploma in NVQ Beauty Therapy General.
  • It is the aggregate of all units that forms the overall grade of the qualification.
  • Assignments and treatment evidence documentation are graded pass or refer.
  • If a learner is unsuccessful in any area, they will be re-assessed only in the unit(s) where they were referred
  • Referrals must be completed within one year of the original assessment. The remainder of the candidate’s results will stay in the system until all aspects of each unit have been allocated a pass grade. 
Are there any opportunities for employment once I have completed?
This diploma qualifies graduates to operate their own salon. Graduates can also gain employment in Beauty Salons, Hotels, Health Clubs, Spas and Cruise Liners. 
Can I get insurance to work with this qualification Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance can be obtained via The Complementary Therapists Association (www.CThA.com) and other Industry Associations who recognise the Level 2 Beauty Therapy Diploma
